About the Ceremonies

Citizenship CeremonyCeremonies are hosted by Tasman District Council as a way to welcome our new Tasman residents and celebrate with them.

The Department of Internal Affairs manages the citizenship process. If you have questions about the Citizenship Process or the status of your application, please contact the Department of Internal Affairs on 0800 22 51 51.

2018 and 2019 Ceremony Dates

Ceremonies are planned for the following dates in 2018 and 2019. You must have received an invitation from the Department of Internal Affairs to attend the ceremony.

  • 19 September, 9.30am
  • 28 November, 9.30am


  • 13 February, 9.30am
  • 3 April, 9.30am
  • 15 May, 9.30am
  • 3 July, 9.30am
  • 11 September, 9.30am
  • 6 November, 9.30am


Ceremonies are usually held at the Headingly Centre, located on Headingly Lane, off Lower Queen Street in Richmond.
