Council Elections

Elections for all local body authorities throughout New Zealand are held every three years and are conducted by postal vote.  The last triennial local government and district health board elections were held on Saturday 9 October 2010. These elections are conducted under the provisions of the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Electoral Regulations 2001, and the Local Government Act 2002.

By-Election Golden Bay Ward

Following the resignation of Golden Bay Ward Councillor Noel Riley, a by-election was held in 2011. Paul Sangster was elected.
