Water Restrictions Lifted

Monday 13 March 2017

Water restrictions have been lifted in urban and rural areas on the Waimea Plains with immediate effect.

Tasman District Council Dry Weather Task Force convenor Dennis Bush-King said the recent rain has replenished river levels and groundwater levels will improve.

“The Waimea River is flowing at a level which should see us through to the end of the irrigation season.

"Given the flow is well above the rationing triggers, there is no need for restrictions.”
