Dog registration expired on 30 June 2012, however, you have until 31 July 2012 to register your dog.

All dogs must be registered

Anyone who keeps a dog aged three months or older is required to register their dog by 31 July 2011. Registration forms for all dogs currently on Council’s database were posted at the end of May 2011. If you did not receive a registration form, please immediately contact your nearest Council office to update your details so that a form can be sent to you.

You can also download a form from Tasman District Council's website. Please complete the form, sign it and send it to Council with the appropriate fee. All forms must be signed, registration cannot be completed if the registration form is not signed. All unsigned forms will be returned for completion.

A 50% late fee will be applied after 1 August 2011 to standard registration fees.

Failing to register your dog before 31 July 2012 will result in a penalty fee being added to the urban or rural annual fee from 1 August 2011.  Keeping an unregistered dog is an offence against the Dog Control Act 1996. The infringement fee for this offence is fixed at $300.00. The registration fee remains additional.
