Temporary Change to Rabbit Island Cycle Trail
Monday 12 November 2012
Visitors are reminded that Moturoa Rabbit Island is a working forestry area.
For the next few weeks there will be a minor diversion on the Rabbit Island section of Tasman’s Great Taste Trail.
While the island will still be open for biking and other activities, an interim bike trail will be signposted to allow work within a section of the forestry plantation on the island. Full and free access to and from the Flat Bottom ferry connecting the island to Mapua will be maintained.
Caution: Logging in Progress
Visitors to the island are asked to keep to the marked trails. Logging is in progress and heavy machinery and trucks are in constant use. Please use caution, particularly at intersections.
