Current River Maintenance Planned Works

Updated two-monthly, this page contains a list of current river works being carried out throughout the Tasman District. Please note that the list is indicative only as weather, personnel availability and unforeseen emergency events may affect proposed works at short notice.
- The table below shows works programmed under the 2012/13 Annual Operations Management Plan (AOMP).
- Non-programmed work is ongoing.
- The next round of Rivercare meetings will be held in mid March 2013 (see below).
RiverCare Onsite Meetings – March 2013
Council invites interested landowners to make an appointment to discuss specific river management issues or problem areas with Council’s Rivers team.
The informal meetings will be held on site at the location(s) in question. Preferably appointments should be made between 11 and 22 March.

Aorere River Works
Rock bank protection work restarted in December 2012 at various sites in the lower reaches and will be ongoing through February 2013.
The Council is preparing to extract/relocate gravel at two sites in the Lower Aorere - the beach on the right bank where it has formed immediately above the Ferntown Bridge (Riddles Beach) and at the beach in the vicinity of the 4km mark, right bank. Access and gravel storage issues are being investigated with the work anticipated to begin in the period indicated above.
