Air Quality

The quality of the air we breathe is important to our health. This section highlights air quality issues in Tasman District.

The main issue is winter-time smog due to wood-burning.

Low air quality may also result in bad smells, or poor visibility (smog) - however not all bad smells indicate low air quality (for example Rotorua), and not all low visibility conditions are the result of low air quality (for example fog, which is just moisture in the air).
