About Marahau Beach

Marahau Beach is about twenty minutes drive north of Motueka. From the boat ramp near the entrance to Marahau, follow the sea-wall north for about 450m.

On average there is only a 2-3 hour window of opportunity for water-based recreation due to the tide. During the peak Christmas- January period the beach has about 120 and 160 visitors a day.

The main recreational uses are swimming and kayaking.
