About Mapua Leisure Park Beach

Mapua Leisure Park is near Mapua, about twenty minutes drive northwest of Richmond. Take Tahi Street off Aranui Drive in Mapua. The beach is accessed either through the Leisure Park (paying patrons only), or by walking around the coastline.

At the peak Christmas-February period the beach has between 200 and 400 visitors a day, with seasonal average usage of 20 to 50 visitors a day.

The main recreational use is swimming. A floating pontoon for diving off is often moored off the beach. Swimmers need to be cautious as strong currents are common in this area.
