About Rabbit Island Main Beach

Rabbit Island Beach about 15 minute drive north-west of Richmond and is accessed from Redwood Road, off State Highway 60.

This beach is the second most popular beach in Tasman District. During the peak Christmas-January period the beach receives about 500 and 1000 visitors a day.

The main recreational activity is swimming. The beach is usable at all tides. The beach is popular with school groups with plenty of space for games at low tide.
