Hunter Brown Reserve

On the western end of Rough Island, facing the Mapua Channel. Turn left after crossing the Rabbit Island Bridge and continue on to the end of Tic Toc Road.

Boat Ramp

There is a boat ramp on Rabbit Island at Boat Ramp Road. The ramp gives access to the popular water ski area towards the eastern end of the Island, sheltered from the sea winds. Turn at the sign past the second Caretaker's house. The ski area is also easily accessible by boat from the Monaco Boat Ramp, near Stoke. Some knowledge of the deep-water channels is essential for safe boating in these tidal waters.

Equestrian Park

Rough Island is home to a fabulous equestrian facility catering for different riding groups and individuals. It has dressage and western arenas, cross-country and show jumps as well as wonderful riding trails through the forestry. Horses are also permitted on the southern end of Rabbit Island beach.
