Upper Moutere Recreation Reserve, Upper Moutere

Upper Moutere Recreation Reserve is located on the Moutere Highway at Upper Moutere.

It is the home of the Rangers Rugby Club and includes a new Community Centre. A memorial and memorial gates are located at the reserve entrance. The reserve also includes fenced tennis courts and a car park. The reserve is used for rugby, football, athletics, and tennis.

History

A hand-dug drainage ditch alongside the reserve is of historic interest. A sign provides information about the history and significance of this feature.

In recent years the community got together and fund raised to help towards costs to build a new community centre.

Management

A management committee assists with management of the reserve and the Centre. The local community has also undertaken a considerable amount of work at the reserve.
