Wakefield Library Memorial Gardens Reserve, Wakefield

Wakefield Library Memorial Gardens Reserve is located on the corner of Whitby Way and Edward Street in Wakefield. It includes a small area of formal gardens surrounding a war memorial, and the Wakefield Community Library Building.

Heritage

The library building is listed as a Category II Heritage Building in the Proposed Tasman Resource Management Plan.

The War Memorial statue commemorates people from the district who lost their lives in the two World Wars, and in the Korea, Malaya, Borneo, and South Vietnam conflicts. Paths, seating, and amenity plantings surround the memorial and library.

The reserve is an attractive site in central Wakefield. It is used during Anzac Day services.
