Tramping Tracks
Approximately 60% of the Tasman District Council is conservation estate. This is largely forested mountainous terrain in the three national parks Kahurangi, Nelson Lakes and Abel Tasman. There are a great number of tramping options from less than an hour to multi day excursions.
The Top of the South Maps website shows tramping tracks in the Tasman / Nelson region. Tramping tracks are shown in yellow, casual walking tracks are shown in lime green.
The Department of Conservation (DoC) has publications and maps for the tracks and walks in the Tasman District. These are available for purchase at DoC offices or via the following website link.
