Dog Registration 2011-2012

Penalty Fees Now Apply

The fee for dogs that have not been registered as at 8 August 2011 have increased by 50% on top of the standard urban or rural registration fee.

Dog registrations expired on 30 June 2011.  Anyone who keeps a dog aged 3 months or older was required to register their dog by 31 July 2011, dogs registered after this time have incurred a 50% penalty fee in addition to the standard registration fee.

Registration forms for all dogs currently on our database were posted at the end of May 2011.  All owners of dogs that remain unregistered have been sent new registration forms with fees that include the 50% penalty. 

All owners of dogs that are unregistered at 1 September 2011 will be issued with an infringement fine for failing to register their dog(s).  The dog(s) may also be seized and impounded until the infringement fine, registration and penalty fees are paid.
