Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan

The purpose of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan is to:

  • Set out the vision of the CDEM Group and how it will achieve its obligations to the community under the CDEM Act 2002.
  • Strengthen relationships and planning between agencies involved in civil defence emergency management.
  • Identify and prioritise key risks to the CDEM Group’s area and outline arrangements to address them.
  • Promote resilience and cooperative planning and action between emergency management agencies and the community.

The Nelson Tasman Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan came into effect on 1 August 2012 and is required to be reviewed after five years.
