Please bring a rates bill with you, or contact a Council office for your valuation number before collecting your bin. You can also look up your valuation number online.
If you’ve got a large amount of recycling you can drop it free of charge, seven days a week at any Resource Recovery Centre.

Preparing your Recyclables for Collection
- Plastic containers – Wash and squash, no hazardous material containers, eg pesticides, oil or toxic chemicals. No polystyrene meat trays or containers. Platsic bags and wrap are not currently recyclable.
- Cans and tins – Wash and squash. Aluminium cans should also be squashed. Empty aerosol cans and clean aluminium foil products are accepted.

- Glass items – Wash and remove any lids or corks. You don’t need to separate coloured glass. No broken glass, light bulbs, pyrex, windscreen or window glass.
- Newspapers and magazines (including glossy ones) – Flatten, fold and tie in bundles or place in plastic supermarket bags and place next to the blue bin.
Items must be clean and reduced in volume to help us with handling and storage. You don’t need to remove labels.

Recycling Bins
Each residential property is entitled to up to two blue recycling bins – remember to write your street number on the side so you can keep track of your bin on collection day. If you have two bins, place glass in one and the rest in the other. New and replacement bins can be collected free of charge from your nearest Resource Recovery Centre.
