Trade Waste

This main points covered in Tasman District Council's Trade Waste Bylaw are:

  • Long term or temporary trade waste discharge
  • Establishment of three categories of trade waste: permitted, conditional or prohibited in the form of a consent
  • Evaluation of trade waste against specific criteria
  • Installation of flow meters, samplers or other devices to measure flow of discharges
  • Sampling and monitoring to ensure discharges meet with criteria
  • Acceptance or refusal of discharges
  • Charges to be set to cover the cost of administration and monitoring, conveying, treating, disposing of trade waste.
