The Long Game

A series of events discussing what the ageing demographic means for our region and for each of us individually.

The 2013 Census figures show that the Tasman District has a higher percentage of its population aged over 65 (17.9%) compared with the national percentage over 65 (14.4%). Tasman District Council therefore needs to ensure issues relevant to older persons are given high priority.

Outstanding Community Awards

These awards recognise and celebrate the older people who have given long-term outstanding service to the community (more than 20 years).  Nominations are open throughout the year, closing in June. The awards ceremony is held in August.

It is published every two months and a free copy is available at both Tasman District and Nelson City Councils, libraries and service centres. A $10 yearly subscription is also an option if you wish to get the magazine delivered by post.
