Positive Ageing Policy
The Nelson City and Tasman District Councils had been approached by the Positive Ageing Forum to set out their respective policies for ''older persons''.
The two Councils recognise the diversity of their populations and although most activities undertaken by the two Councils impact on residents as a whole, there are a number of Council activities which have a more significant effect on the older population.
This policy clarifies the existing services provided by both Councils.
Mudcakes and Roses
Both Councils communicate with the 50+ age group through the magazine Mudcakes and Roses. This bi-monthly publication is available free to residents of Tasman and Nelson Districts. If you would like a copy of Mudcakes and Roses posted to your home please contact:
