Heritage Places
The Council has a role in protecting a wide variety of heritage places in the Tasman District. These places include:
- buildings - rural industrial, commercial, residential and church buildings
- sites - archaeological sites and sites of significance to Māori
- objects - war memorials and monuments.
Heritage places may be protected by policies and rules in the Tasman Resource Management Plan and/or by heritage covenants registered on the certificate of title to the property.
