Mariri Resource Recovery Centre Improvements

Improvements have been made to the Mariri Resource Recovery Centre that have made the centre more efficient, safer and easier for people to use.

Drop-off Points reinstated

A temporary waste drop off area is now used for greenwaste and pit improvements are complete.

When dropping off rubbish and recycling, please:

  • keep an eye on the signs;
  • follow the directions of staff.

About the Improvements

A new compactor and bin weighing system will allow more material to fit into the bins, ultimately resulting in fewer truck trips from the resource recovery centre to landfill.  There have been safety improvements to the refuse drop-off areas, as well as improved signage to make the centre easier for people to use.

Timeline

The majority of work is complete.
