Richmond Lower Queen Street Pipe Upgrade Project

We're upgrading and replacing sewer, water and stormwater pipes in Lower Queen Street, Richmond until September this year.

This work is required to provide for subdivision growth in Richmond West and affects Lower Queen Street between Stafford Street and McShane Road.

Traffic Delays

  • Road users should expect traffic delays until September 2018.
  • One lane will be open at all times, however some of the work will impact traffic flows.
  • Please obey any signage and slow down near road crews.

About the Project

There are several phases of work to upgrade the water, wastewater and stormwater networks in Richmond West.

The construction programme began in 2017 and is planned for completion in September 2018.

Headingly Lane Sewer Upgrade

This work is now complete.

Lower Queen Street Water and Sewer Upgrade

Work started in January 2018 by Downer NZ and is planned for completion in June 2018.

Lower Queen Street Stormwater

Work is scheduled to begin in June 2018 by Donaldson Civil and planned for completion in September 2018.
