Share the Road with Trucks
The Council, together with the New Zealand Road Transport Association and Stuart Drummond Transport ran a campaign at Brightwater and Ranzau schools. The campaign highlighted to students the blind spots truck drivers experience, often missing children walking or cycling. Students were given the opportunity to experience this by sitting in the cab of the truck. They also discussed the wind blast students might experience when cycling and being overtaken by a truck, and how that can effect them.
Cyclist Road Code
The New Zealand Transport Agency has produced a Road Code specifically for cyclists.
