Road Safety Issues

Local road safety issues are determined from Police-reported crash data which the New Zealand Transport Agency puts into a yearly report.

The following report details the issues for Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough for both local roads and state highways for the 2006 - 2010 period.

Give Way Rule changes

On 25 March 2012 two of the Give Way rules changed.

Road Safe Nelson Bays

Road Safety Nelson Bays is a community group that aims to provide a community voice for all road users.  It meets monthly and includes representatives from the Police, councils, ACC, driving instructors, New Zealand Transport Association, truck drivers, AA, health promotion and local cyclists and walkers.

This group can also assist with small amounts of funding for local road safety projects.
