Tourist Signage
Signs provide an important information function throughout both the towns and rural areas of Tasman District. Council policy allows for roadside signage in some situations.
Signs on Roads for Commercial/Private Benefit
Council allows the installation of signs on or adjacent to the road margin subject to the conditions of the "Signs on Roads for Commercial/Private Benefit" policy and in compliance with the provisions of the Tasman Resource Management Plan. The policy is intended to ensure that signs are installed to a consistent type and standard, and in suitable locations. Inconsistent signage or an excessive number of signs may confuse motorists and contribute to the risk of an accident.
