Tasman District Council hereby gives public notice of its proposal to classify existing reserves, comprising 235 parcels of land, within the Richmond Ward, Lakes-Murchison Ward, and one reserve (Baigents Bush Scenic Reserve, Pigeon Valley) in Moutere-Waimea Ward, in accordance with the provisions of Section 16 of the Reserves Act 1977.
The proposed classifications reflect the current reserve purposes and management intentions for each parcel of land and aim to ensure that these reserves are appropriately protected and managed for public benefit.
Details of the Proposal
The classification of the reserves will cover three categories:
- Scenic Reserves
- Recreation Reserves
- Local Purpose Reserves (of various types)

Submission Process
The public is invited to make written submissions on the proposed classifications. Submissions must be received by 18 November 2024. Submissions should state your name, contact details, and the grounds for your support or objection.
