Water Shortage Direction - Section 329 of the Resource Management Act 1991

Domestic water use within any water management zone during periods of water rationing in that zone is restricted:

No watering of lawns or decorative gardens is permitted.

Stock drinking water is not restricted.

 

Stage 1 Rationing will start from Monday 27 January 2020 for the holders of an expired Resource Consent which authorise the taking of water who are currently awaiting a decision on objection under section 357 of the Resource Management Act 1991

Stage 1 Rationing will start from Monday 27 January 2020 for the holders of a expired Resource Consent which authorise the taking of water who have applied for a new Resource Consent but are awaiting the issue of the new Resource Consent, subject to section 124 of the Resource Management Act 1991.

Until the new Resource Consent is issued the conditions of the expired Resource Consent prevail.

Stage 1 Rationing is a 20% cut in the allocation contained in the bona fide review advice you would have received from Council which determines the maximum authorised weekly volume of water for those Consent holders currently awaiting a decision on objection under section 357 of the Resource Management Act 1991 and those consent holders awaiting the issue of a new Resource Consent subject to section 124 of the Resource Management Act 1991 who do not hold shares in the in the Waimea Irrigators Limited (6091410) company.

Should the 20% cut to the expired Resource Consent maximum weekly authorised volume of water exceed the maximum weekly authorised volume determined by the bona fide review, the maximum weekly water take volume determined by the bona fide review will prevail.

Stage 1 rationing applies to the following water management zones:

Delta, Delta (Affiliated), Delta (Unaffiliated), Golden Hills, Golden Hills (Affiliated), Golden Hills (Unaffiliated), Reservoir, Reservoir (Affiliated), Reservoir (Unaffiliated), Upper Catchments, Upper Catchments (Affiliated), Upper Catchments (Unaffiliated), Upper Confined, Upper Confined (Affiliated), Upper Confined (Unaffiliated), Waimea West, Waimea West (Affiliated), Waimea West (Unaffiliated), Motupiko

The position will be reviewed at the next meeting of the Dry Weather Taskforce on 28 January
