The mural was commissioned in 2011, and created by a group of alternative education students as part of the project to reduce graffiti vandalism.
The mural was designed to provide and engage a group of local alternative education students with an opportunity to creatively express themselves and positively contribute to the community they live in. The mural was part of a project to reduce graffiti vandalism in Richmond.
