Tasman District Council is planning to burn wood debris in the vicinity of Quail Valley, beginning on Tuesday 16 December 2025 .
This burn is expected to take a week and will be dependent on weather and wind conditions.
We wish to make everyone aware that there is a possibility of some overnight burning.
Fans will be used to aid clean, rapid burning. Along with other machinery on site, this may cause some moderate noise for residents in the area. Likely affected residents have been contacted.
The burn will meet all necessary permits and regulations and will be monitored at all times.
Additional note:
The debris to be burned is comprised of untreated wood material, that was deposited by the floods earlier in the year, and is now deemed unsuitable for firewood/fuel purposes
