On Tuesday 8 July from 9.00am for up to 8 hours, the sewage pumping main on McShane Road, that services the pressure sewage pumping system at the Meadows, will shut down for changes to the pipeline alignment.

The result of this shut down should not affect the ability to operate your wastewater system in the home. However, if you can delay washing of clothes and the use of dish washers during this period, it will give you additional storage.

What will possibly occur, is the alarm (both visual and audible) indicating either the pump did not start or the wastewater level in the storage tank has reached the alarm level, may activate.

If this happens, what should you do?

  1. Press the button under the electrical box and shut both the sound and visual alarms off then ring us at the Council on 543 8400 and provide your address to the call taker.
  2. Once the pipeline is recommissioned our contractors will attend the sites identified to turn the pumping systems back on.
  3. However, if you notice any problems with the wastewater system during the shutdown and need urgent assistance, please call us immediately.

Details on how the pumps operate, and information relating to alarms, plus details of what cannot be discharged through the pumps is in your owner’s manual (pdf 1.1 MB)
